After the tough loss Tuesday, let’s see where the Badgers and other B1G schools stack up in Bracketology. Since some of these are pre-Indiana, I’ll date them.

CBS Sports (January 13)

  • Wisconsin – Midwest #1 seed against the winner of Southern U and Norfolk State.
  • Michigan State – South #1 seed against Vermont.
  • Iowa – East #3 seed against Delaware.
  • Ohio State – Midwest #6 seed against winner of SMU and Tennessee.
  • Michigan – West #7 seed against Dayton.
  • Minnesota – South #11 seed against New Mexico.

ESPN – (January 16)

  • Wisconsin – South #1 seed against Southern. This would be Milwaukee to Memphis which isn’t terrible. But having the second site be Indianapolis is definitely favorable.
  • Michigan State – Midwest #1 seed against Indiana University-Purdue University at Fort Wayne.
  • Ohio State – East #3 seed against Delaware.
  • Iowa – West #4 seed against Louisiana Tech.
  • Michigan – South #7 seed against California.
  • Minnesota – South #12 seed play-in against Stanford for a chance to play Cincinnati.

Sports Illustrated (January 13)

  • Wisconsin – Midwest #1 seed against Western Carolina.
  • Michigan State – South #1 seed against Southern.
  • Ohio State – West #3 seed against Boston University.
  • Iowa – East #5 seed against UC Santa Barbara.
  • Illinois – West #8 seed against Tennessee.
  • Michigan – East #10 seed against New Mexico.
  • Minnesota – Midwest #12 seed against Gonzaga.

Sporting News (January 14)

  • Wisconsin - #1 seed. Could play Boston, Robert Morris, Northern Colorado, Winthrop, Mercer or Southern.
  • Michigan State – #1 seed.
  • Iowa – #3 seed.
  • Ohio State – #4 seed.
  • Michigan – #6 seed.
  • Minnesota – #10 seed.
  • Illinois – #12 seed.

Shelby’s Bracket WAG – (January 16)

  • Wisconsin – Midwest #1 seed against winner of NC Central and Vermont.
  • Michigan State – South #1 seed against winner of Radford and Southern.
  • Ohio State – West #3 seed against Stephen F. Austin.
  • Iowa – West #5 seed against Southern Mississippi.
  • Michigan – East #9 seed against UConn.
  • Minnesota – East #11 seed against Louisville.
  • Illinois – South #11 play-in against SMU to play Duke.

The two brackets that have been updated after the Indiana game still have Wisconsin as a one seed. That’s the bonus of building up a nice resume in the non-conference portion of the schedule. They need to get back on the winning track at home on Saturday, against another tournament team.
