Badger Bracketology: Wisconsin in March Madness VII

It’s getting late enough in the year now where some of these are being updated more. Wisconsin looked good this week, but poor Nebraska. That loss at Illinois really hurt.

Here’s where Bucky and the Big Ten sit.

CBS Sports (February 27)

  • Wisconsin – South #2 seed against North Carolina Central (in Milwaukee).
  • Michigan State – West #4 seed against Stephen F. Austin.
  • Michigan – Midwest #4 seed against North Dakota State.
  • Ohio State – East #5 seed against Harvard.
  • Iowa – South #6 seed against Oklahoma State.
  • Minnesota – Midwest #11 seed play-in game against Missouri. The winner would get Connecticut.
  • Nebraska – First four out.

ESPN – (February 27)

  • Michigan State – South #3 seed against Delaware.
  • Michigan – Midwest #3 seed against New Mexico State.
  • Iowa – East #6 seed against Baylor.
  • Ohio State – West #6 seed against BYU.
  • Minnesota – Midwest #12 seed play-in game against St. John’s. Winner plays UCLA.
  • Nebraska – Next Four Out.

  • Minnesota – East #12 seed against San Diego State.
  • Nebraska – First Four Out.

  • Michigan State – #3 seed.
  • Michigan – #3 seed.
  • Iowa – #5 seed.
  • Ohio State – #6 seed.
  • Minnesota – Bubble Team
  • Nebraska – Bubble Team

Shelby’s Bracket WAG – (February 27)

  • Wisconsin – South #3 seed against Iona (in Milwaukee).
  • Michigan State – West #3 seed against Stephen F. Austin.
  • Michigan – Midwest #3 seed against Delaware.
  • Ohio State – Midwest #5 seed against Middle Tennessee State.
  • Iowa – East #6 seed against Harvard.
  • Minnesota – South #12 play-in game against Providence. Winner plays Louisville.
  • Nebraska – East #12 play-in game against Richmond. Winner plays Kentucky.

Each week gets better and better. I’d say the Badgers are at a two seed right now as their resume looks very impressive. Florida, Virginia (on the road) and St. Louis (netural site) are three gigantic wins that the seeding committee is going to like.

While they are sitting at two, I’d say the range goes from 1-5 right now. Win out, including the Big Ten Tournament and it’d be very tough to keep them out of a one seed. Lose these next four and I still think their resume is strong enough to be a five seed.

Final prediction? They’ll be a two seed once it’s all done with.
